This is the most difficult and crucial stage.
The production of blades is the most important procedure, consisting of complex sequential metallurgical and forging operations
The initial basic blank, which has only the contours of the blade, we get the method of powder metallurgy. After pressing in the mold, baking occurs, then cold forging and already in the final hardening. And finishing, downhill driving, grinding and polishing complete this multi-level cycle. It is very important to correctly calculate the tolerances of the basic mold, since the rough blank goes through the grinding stage and, if the tolerances are calculated incorrectly, Inertix will either not go around in poses, or there will be a huge backlash.
We will need 2 weeks to produce the mold. After the successful implementation of this stage, the remaining stages are just a technological chain, at the finish of which is manual assembly and marking.
All components will be ready. But this is only half the work.
All the components that we use to assemble Inertix Exoblade are metal, of the correct geometric shape, with the configuration philosophy of "knife LEGO"
Round elements are sharpened on lathes. Flat elements are laser cut out of sheet metal. The spring undergoes additional hardening. All faces are ground in several stages. Tumbling will finish the roughing cycle. The final procedure is wet tumbling as the final finishing process before assembly.
The exception is the component "Halo", it goes through the stage of additional grinding and polishing. We plan to collect 20-30 units daily in the first stage. Subsequently, this power can be increased at times, but the quality of the first series is always excellent. And a metal certificate with a serial number in mass production outside this project is excluded.

The knife will be sent as sharpened and ready for use as possible. Self sharpening a knife is not recommended. You can ask a question in the community and our backers will tell you where to locally optimally sharpen this knife in your region.

Transforming the look of your favorite knife can be a complete hobby if you are a participant in this project.
The most interesting direction in custom inertix is the replacement of the blade. Optimal blade materials are a budget but excellent option D2 (can be burnished in matte black) or Damascus steel for connoisseurs of expensive blade luxury. During the tests, we lost one after 500 openings, then we used one production trick and the nuts stopped flying off. But I really want to replace them, for example with copper ones. Inertix in the basic configuration is good, but with yellow or copper nuts it looks just really alien.

Yesterday, the knife was a simple item, today it is a device that can be constantly upgraded. That is what we should be a cyber knife.
